SUMMARY:Gender*Language: Ambiguous Relations
DESCRIPTION:Gender*Language is returning to RADION on 28 November for its last event of 2024! \nWe’ll bring a curated selection of performance\, installation & conversation to look back on Gender*Language’s first publication year as we transfer artistic projects and involved makers from the online space to a live\, offline setting. \nThus far\, Gender*Language has engaged with three themes: dynamics of objectification\, particularities of language\, and coded existence. The search for a common thread among these publication themes brought us to ‘Ambiguous Relations’ — being at odds with the world\, others\, but also ourselves. In the words of Moritz Friedhofen ‘Enjoy the bliss of confusion and chaos’. \n  \nIn conversation with\nEleni Maragkou\, Juno Dijkshoorn\, and Kuntenserven \nPerformances by\nFyn Paulina Bonita\, Kaiden Ford\, MARICXS\, and R3LN4CHT \nInstallations by\nFyn Paulina Bonita\, Joy Bomer\, and Prins de Vos \nAfter with\nDIORA \n  \nSupported by the AFK (Amsterdam Fund for the Arts).

SUMMARY:Rumour Has It: A Workshop on Gossip by James Parnell
DESCRIPTION:One of the most common\, exciting\, important\, and controversial styles of communication is gossip. Gossip fuels reality tv programs and tabloids. It can be used as a protective web to prevent harm from reoccurring. Or it can be used to bully\, intimidate\, and maintain positions of power. \nIn this workshop\, we will explore our relationship to gossip and rumors. What effect does gossip have on our communities? What is “productive” gossip and what is “harmful” gossip? And how does gossip affect the way that we interact with those around us? \n  \nJames Parnell (He/Him)\nJames Parnell is a Hague-based curator\, facilitator\, dancer\, and zinester who focuses on community building\, collective learning\, and the conflicts that arise in these practices. He often works in cultures and artistic communities on the margins\, such as queer communities\, Black communities\, and independent publishers.
