SUMMARY:GL invites Nick Coutsier
DESCRIPTION:Lecture & workshop \nTICKETS \nNick Coutsier invites the GL community to take part in the artistic research that shapes his movement practice. In this post-ADE moment\, we’ll take movement as a way of leading into the body as well as landing into the body and its surrounding spaces. We’ll experiment with movement in relation to collectivity\, contemporary ritual\, notions of belonging\, and connection. Underlying this\, there’s a movement towards re-owning techno as black sound as well as an exploration of ‘the dark’ of nightlife as a place of potential transformation. \nExpect to engage with these topics through collective movement\, bodily experimentation\, and open-hearted conversation. Bring comfy clothes and a curious mindset. Afterwards\, we’ll share some (vegan) bites brought to us by Malou of Rebel Radish. \n*being a prof dancer is NOT a requirement\, just a willingness to actively explore movement — bring an open attitude\, a curious mindset & comfy clothes. \nDoors open 18:45 / Start 19:00 \nMade possible by Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie

SUMMARY:GL invites ELLE FIERCE
DESCRIPTION:Performative lecture \nTICKETS \nELLE invites you to a performative lecture — or perhaps\, a dinner show unlike you’ve ever seen before… Together with the “audience”\, she investigates the delicate yet powerful moment of ‘Risk’. What does ‘risk-taking’ mean\, what necessities need to be in place for a risk to unfurl\, and when can we (allow ourselves to) take risk? What does risk disrupt and expose within ourselves as well as the structures we live in? \nShe sees the body as a place where resistance and transformation can start\, take shape\, and grow further. In her work\, she confronts hegemonic constructs of race\, gender\, and beauty by interrogating Western (aesthetic) paradigms and their histories of exclusion. Her works often come back to dualities of visibility and representation: how they operate under\nthe weight of racialised and gendered ideals and function as a (potential) force of liberation ánd constraint\, how these seemingly opposing movements can occur at the same time\, and what it might mean to occupy both of these places simultaneously. \nDoors open 18:45 / Start 19:00 \nMade possible by Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie
