I lost my fagg*t friend again
by R3LN4CHT
With their new site-specific performance coming up this summer, R3LN4CHT is researching fagg*t friendships. In many films, series and literature, these types of queer friendships often contain a budding, secret love element. R3LN4CHT comes with a different, self-devised frame: the fagg*t friendship. A same-sex relationship that contains nothing romantic or sexual, but still feels intimate and caring.
For Gender Language – The Word, R3LN4CHT collaborates with digital artist Pleun Gremmen (they/them) to construct digital club-bathrooms and visualize the fagg*t habitats. I lost my faggot friend again. is a work-in-progress and takes you along a destabilizing trip, where these two souls (fagg*ts) lost each other and their sense of intimacy.
